Agricola: All Creatures Big & Small is a digital adaptation of Uwe Rosenberg's award-winning two-player board game featuring farming and livestock breeding.

I wasn't haven't any fun always teaching the game, winning and then teaching it to new people, so I got rid of it. I don't expect it will be the better game, but it may well end up working better for my situation. There was a problem adding this item to your Basket Please try again later. A game for 1-4 players ages 12 and up; play time is 30 minutes per player. In Agricola, you're a farmer in a wooden shack with your spouse and little else.

My ex hated the game so I never had the chance to play it. Play against AI, or claim your plot on a worldwide leaderboard and become a strategy game legend. However, caverna replaced it for me. Hopefully someone can chime in here and add to my confusion and indecisiveness :). You can edit your question or post anyway. So it looks like I can choose from the old, new, Z-man and Mayfair, with some expansions between them? I am personally not a fan of Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small (the 2p version), because you really need the expansions to bring more substance to the game. I love this game! The old version is fantastic, and overall at the moment a better game for someone who will play many times a year. Honestly you cant go wrong with either the old 2007 or the new revised edition.

Has everything I need and packaging is great.

However, we LOVE the full version; for many of the same reasons already mentioned here.

Press J to jump to the feed. You’re in charge of growing a farm from its simple beginnings -- just a hut and some fields. The components are nicer too.

-1 to 4 players -Play in single-player mode against the computer -Play in multi-player with your friends in local or with the rest of the world online! It also adds a few new action space boards that can be added if desired and they technically remove the 'family' rules variant, but I think still provide the option of ignoring cards for a first time play (which was almost all the family game was in the older edition, iirc).

That way I could give it a play through and better determine whether I should buy it or not. If you like board games with details then you will love Agricola. The new Mayfair edition is a little more refined, IMO. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. Guide your family to wealth, health and prosperity and you will win the game. Resources are now not cubes and are shaped like the actual resources! Competitive, challenging and compelling. They did it for balancing issues, apparently, but people who played the Z-man version first were not too happy about that. In Agricola, you're a farmer in a wooden shack with your spouse and little else. But we need to get something new, so I'm thinking Agricola. We like the 2-player version for what it is: a simpler, easy-to-carry of the game that's great for taking on vacation. In Agricola (Latin for "farmer"), you're a farmer in a wooden shack with your spouse, and little else. And you don’t want to pay for 2-3 players’ worth of components you won’t likely ever use. This has been played 3 times now with varying numbers of players, so this is just an initial impressions review as there are so many aspects of the game we have yet to add in.

The game didn't just hand itself to me to master on the first playthrough. One of the advantages of Agricola over the others is the wide range of players it accepts.

The first full expansion of 120 cards (Artifex) was released last year and can be found in multiple places for $15. My wife and I just played our first games of Agricola yesterday, and while it sounded a little intimidating online with people talking about the "stress of needing to feed your people," it's not bad at all. Buy the selected items together. I love this game. Each player also starts with a hand of 7 Occupation cards and 7 Minor Improvement cards that players use for their strategy. My wife and I play the two player version of this game a fair bit. Plus, you can only play it 2p ever. In Agricola, you're a farmer in a wooden shack with your spouse and little else. Maybe after 20 more plays I might be itching for more cards, but who knows. Takes us nearly two hours to get through a game. The times I have done best in the game have been when I've only really sorted out my food situation for the last two harvests, and have been scraping by on the skin of my teeth up until that point.
